This VTB model was developed based on the baseline Sodium-cooled Fasted Reactor (SFR) metallic fuel modeling capabilities (Matthews et al., 2023) and the BISON-Fuels Irradiation and Physics Database (FIPD) integration framework (Miao et al., 2021; Miao et al., 2023).

This case is focused on the verification and validation (V&V) demonstration of the BISON's SFR metallic fuel performance models powered by integration with the FIPD database (Yacout et al., 2021), which maintains the steady-state fuel irradiation data collected during the IFR program. Pin DP11 irradiated in the experimental subassembly X447, which was designed to investigate the high-temperature effects on cladding degradation caused by fuel-cladding chemical interaction (FCCI) and coolant-cladding chemical interaction (CCCI), was selected to be the representative of the demonstration case.
